Janice Hale - Publications Director & HOBBY GREENHOUSE Magazine Editor Janice Hale's small 6x8 ft. lean-to greenhouse was built in 1980, the year she joined HGA and the local Massachusetts chapter. In 1986 the greenhouse was doubled in size with the addition of another section. The greenhouse was in operation until 2007 when she moved to an apartment and became a window-sill indoor gardener. Jan's undergraduate degree was in publishing, and over the years she has worked on small magazines and numerous newsletters. She took over the job of publishing the HGA magazine in 1986. Jan's graduate degree is in Library Science, which helps with research for our publications. Besides gardening, her hobbies include building miniatures and painting landscapes.
